Biographical Information
Denise Deig,
MSPT, GCFP, BFLT/T
Deig authored the book, “Positional Release Technique, from a Dynamic Systems Perspective” originally published by Butterworth Heinmann in 2000. The 2nd revised edition was Published in 2006. She has taught Positional Release Muscle and Joint Continuing Education Classes to Physical and Massage Therapists on a National basis since 1985. Deig taught Positional Release and Movement classes in the MHS postgraduate and DPT programs in the Physical Therapy program at the University of Indianapolis for 30 years until 2019. She became an Ortho-Bionomy® Instructor in 1980 under the tutelage of its founder Arthur Lincoln Pauls. She became an Advanced Ortho-Bionomy Instructor in 2017. She teaches Phase 4, 5, 6, 7, Isometrics, Exploration of Movement, Cranial and Chapman’s Classes.
Deig has an undergraduate degree in Psychology from Indiana University. Her professional training in Physical Therapy was completed at the University of California in San Francisco, in 1976. She completed her MS degree in 1994 from the University of Indianapolis.
Denise first studied with Moshe Feldenkrais in 1980 during a six-day class in San Francisco. She completed the 8-month Feldenkrais® professional training program from 1988 to 1992. Denise trained with Ruthy Alon, Mark Reese, Jerry Karzan, and Russell Delman, in Michigan, Hawaii and Hamburg, Germany. She has been a Guild Certified Feldenkrais Practitioner cm (GCFP) since 1990. She continued her movement studies with Ruthy Alon and became a Bones for Life Trainer in 2006. She became a Senior Movement Intelligence Trainer in 2014.
Denise has studied Esoteric Healing primarily through NAEH since 1990 and became a Certified Practitioner through INEH in 2017. She is a life long lover of nature, gardening and native plants, and has always found the divine therein. She has presented at NAEH conferences on Service through the Plant Kingdom, and Permanate Atoms and their Sheaths. She co-taught a class on Telepathy with Constance McCloy in 2015.
Deig has extensive postgraduate training in orthopedic Physical Therapy. Much of her manual training was carried out at the school of Osteopathy at Michigan State University. She integrates Indirect Manual Therapy and Movement Intelligence work into her manual therapy practice in Indianapolis, Indiana.
